We know you can’t wait to begin your new life at Virginia Tech. But where to start? There are a number of things you can cross off your to-do list even before you get to campus. Start with the You’re In… Now What checklist. It’s an easy way to keep track of what you’ve done, what you need to do, and what you need to consider before moving to campus.

Students at the Big Event

Our motto—Ut Prosim (That I May Serve)—is what Virginia Tech was built around, so we take it seriously. And it means something unique to each person on campus. At VT Engage, the university’s service learning and community engagement center, Ut Prosim means working to inspire active citizens and strengthen communities.

Students serving the community

In the spirit of Ut Prosim, VT Engage collaborate with communities, students, and faculty to cultivate and maintain partnerships that benefit people and the world by developing service programs that focus on engaged learning and reflection.

VT Engage encourages students to develop a long-lasting relationship with service and your community. Our hope is to help you explore what Ut Prosim means to you, and empower you with the tools and knowledge to become change-making citizens in college and after graduation.
