Getting Here

This is Home… On-Campus Housing

Living on campus is not only convenient, it offers an exceptional opportunity for finding friends and making important connections as you start college life. With more than 40 residence halls, including more than a dozen living-learning communities, we invite you to find a community where you live, learn, laugh, and launch your Virginia Tech experience. Click “Living Here” in the black navigation bar to explore all on-campus housing, as well as other tips and hints for life on campus and in Blacksburg. Welcome home, Hokies!

Are you counting down the days until you come to campus? Lucky for you, you won’t have to wait until classes start to lay your eyes on Blacksburg again—you’ll get a chance at New Student Orientation.

At First-Year Orientation, you’ll stay in a residence hall, meet with an academic advisor to set up your fall schedule, get familiar with campus, learn about Virginia Tech traditions, and connect with other incoming students. Over the course of two days, you’ll learn so much about Virginia Tech that you honestly won’t want to leave. Fortunately, you get to come back a month later. The deadline to sign up is June 30!

Transfer Orientation is the same deal (without the overnight stay), but you’ll be with other incoming transfer students. Make sure you sign up by June 17!

When you sign up for Orientation on Hokie SPA, you’ll be asked to provide information on all family members and guests who will be attending with you. There’s a $35.00 fee assessed for each family member/guest attending Orientation—this fee provides a boxed lunch on day one, Orientation materials, and all related programming. In order to complete your sign-up and receive your Orientation date, you’ll be required to pay the family member/guest fee.
