World-renowned hypnotist Tom DeLuca has performed at hundreds of colleges and universities across the country and has appeared on numerous television talk shows. This year, he returns to Virginia Tech for his 13th performance. In previous performances, he has made audience members forget their own names and even believe that they are aliens from another planet. According to Variety Magazine, "DeLuca takes the idea of audience participation to its outer limits." Sponsored by Student Activities.

Come out and join more than 8,000 of your friends for a picnic at Lane Stadium. Walk through the tunnel that the Hokie football team uses and stroll the length of the field on your way to becoming an official Hokie. This year's program features the coaches and team members from men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, and football teams. The Virginia Tech HighTechs, Virginia Tech cheerleaders, and the Marching Virginians will also perform. The picnic is free for all dining plan holders-bring your on-campus room key for admission.

CANstruction is a canned food drive hosted by our on-campus communities. In collaboration with Hokies for the Hungry, participants will collect canned foods, bottled water, and peanut butter throughout the first six weeks of the semester. Participants who bring cans to Hokie F6 events will have the chance for extra entries into prize raffles. On October 1, a structure created from the donated cans will be on display in front of Dietrick. Afterward, all items will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southwest Virginia.
